Convector or oil-filled radiator: which to choose
A convector usually responds more quickly; an oil-filled radiator takes longer to warm up and cool down. Both heat the surrounding air by natural convection.

Compare warm-up speed, placement and controls. A convector offers a slim body and, on suitable models, wall mounting. An oil-filled radiator has a slower thermal response and retains heat after switching off. Neither works without air movement. Match the power to the room, keep the manual's clearances and have any bathroom installation assessed against the exact model's instructions and local requirements.
How a convector heats
Air warmed by the element rises through the upper grilles and cooler air enters below. Warm-up time depends on the room and heat loss. WCH-600EWW is floor-standing, with three power levels up to 2000 W and an adjustable thermostat; the WCH-H series adds wall mounting, half-power ECO mode and a weekly schedule.
How an oil-filled radiator heats
The element heats oil inside the radiator, which transfers heat to the body and surrounding air. The body warms and cools more slowly; residual warmth is stored heat, not free energy. Natural convection still moves air around it. WOH-9Y is rated at up to 2000 W and 25 m², with a thermostat and tip-over shut-off.
Speed and feel of the heat
Choose a convector when quick response matters, or an oil-filled radiator when a slower change in surface temperature suits your routine. Temperature control also depends on the thermostat and the room, not just the heater type. Keep either appliance the specified distance from beds, desks, curtains and other objects.
Space, mounting and safety
WCH-H convectors support wall mounting and are specified as IP24, class I, with an earthed supply. IP24 alone is not permission to install one anywhere in a bathroom: a qualified electrician must check the model's manual and applicable installation rules. Floor-standing oil-filled radiators have hot surfaces and need clear space; take particular care around children.
Running costs
At the same operating power and actual heating time, both use the same amount of electricity. A thermostat and schedule can avoid unnecessary heating. ECO lowers operating power on the relevant models but may extend heating time; it does not by itself guarantee lower total kWh.
