What to consider
- Household size is not enough on its own. Consider shower duration, water flow and several taps being used in succession. A larger tank provides more stored water but needs more space and reheating time.
- Compare controls and heating-element construction. MWH1 uses an immersed element and MWH4 a dry element; neither removes the need for regular tank maintenance.
- Check dimensions, fixings and connections against the drawing for your exact model. Do not judge dimensions from an interior visualisation.
Installation and temperature
Use a qualified installer. The wall must support a full tank, and the tank must be filled before power is switched on. Choose temperature settings according to the manual, considering stored-water hygiene and protection against scalding. ECO is not a universal recommendation for every pattern of use.
Does a dry element still need maintenance?
Yes. Its construction does not remove the need to inspect safety components and service the water heater as the manual requires.
