Crisp dried beetroot
Thin dry beetroot strips with a gentle natural sweetness.
Beetroot is fully cooked, cooled and peeled before it becomes thin dry pieces without added oil. Check one cooled piece for doneness.
For a first try, prepare a small batch of “Crisp dried beetroot”: even pieces are easier to space well and check without rushing.

Method

Prepare
Wash the whole beetroot and discard roots with mould or decay.

Cook the beetroot until tender, then cool it enough to peel safely.

Remove the skin, cut the beetroot into even strips and blot surface moisture.

Arrange and dry
Arrange the prepared pieces in one layer without overlap and leave clear paths for airflow.
Leave space between pieces so air can move freely around them. -
Select the temperature shown in the table above and do not overload the trays.

Cool a separate sample and continue drying until no visible moisture remains inside.

Check and cool
Once cooled, the food should be dry, brittle or tough as appropriate to its structure, with no visible moisture inside. Elapsed time alone does not prove completion.
Check the texture on a separate piece after it cools briefly. -
Move the finished pieces to a clean rack and let them cool completely before packing.
After cooling
Store it airtight in a cool, dry and dark place and check the container for condensation or mould.

Eat as a dry vegetable snack or rehydrate for beetroot soup.
